Australia’s social housing system is under considerable pressure, with high demand, but manifestly inadequate supply. In this context, governments have introduced ‘pathways’ frameworks to promote movement through the social housing system. This report explores tenants’ experiences and perspectives on these social housing pathways.

Cashless Debit Card baseline data collection in the Bundaberg and Hervey Bay Region: qualitative findings


This report details the findings from a study examining Cashless Debit Card (CDC) use in the Bundaberg and Hervey Bay Region. Following a comprehensive stakeholder engagement strategy, in-depth qualitative interviews were conducted with 74 stakeholder representatives and 66 CDC participants across the Bundaberg and Hervey Bay Region.

Hearing and justice: the link between hearing impairment in early childhood and youth offending in Aboriginal children living in remote communities of the Northern Territory, Australia

High prevalence of chronic middle ear disease has persisted in Australian Aboriginal children, and the related hearing impairment (HI) has been implicated in a range of social outcomes. This study investigated the association between HI in early childhood and youth offending.

This study suggests that Australian GPs may be open to a proactive approach to frailty assessment and treatment, given appropriate training and resources.
