The Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme enables authorised organisations and services to share information to facilitate assessment and management of family violence risk to children and adults. This independent review was undertaken by a team of researchers from Monash University.

This project aims to contribute to an understanding of judicial views, understandings and practices in relation to perpetrator interventions and how these views may influence overall perpetrator accountability within the system of perpetrator interventions.

As Victoria moves towards developing new, risk-sensitive approaches to responding to family violence, the voices and experiences of those affected by this complex and distinct form of family violence offer vital insights into the risks faced by victims and affected families.

This project draws on the insights of 36 women living in New South Wales and Victoria who outlined their experiences of seeking justice and security in the context of violence that they had experienced.

This context report surveys the field of AFV, providing definitions of AFV and related concepts, then giving overviews of research, the state of knowledge, policies and practice regarding AFV, what we know about AFV, and methodologies used to research it.
