Modelling presented in this report shows focusing on household energy demand is a highly effective strategy to address Australia’s energy challenges. Household solutions such as thermal upgrades, solar and batteries, and smart, efficient electric appliances would save consumers money, while also benefiting the broader energy system. The report provides five recommendations.

'Renewable gas' campaigns leave Victorian gas distribution networks and consumers at risk
The authors of this report argue that governments and regulators should act to protect consumers, by ensuring that gas distribution networks' campaigning activities are lawful under Australian consumer law, and that expenditure on ‘renewable gas’ activities is not approved where it is not in the long-term interests of energy consumers.
