In this report, the Committee makes 10 recommendations that address specific issues in relation to the rights of women and children, including on matters such as gender-based violence, orphanage trafficking, acid attacks and technology-facilitated abuse.

A key recommendation in this report if for the Australian government to establishes a taskforce within the Department of Health and Aged Care, overseen by a Chief Dental and Oral Health Officer, to identify and progress opportunities to integrate oral and dental health care into primary health care.

This inquiry examined the nature and extent of international digital platforms operated by large overseas-based multinational technology companies—so called ‘Big Tech’— exerting power and influence over markets and public debate, to the detriment of Australian democracy and users.

At the heart this report is a call for Australian governments and civil society to meaningfully engage with the rights of Indigenous peoples through UNDRIP.
