This study investigates the policy and regulatory settings that shape housing options available to households that own companion animals. It considers housing and housing assistance contexts nationally across tenures, sectors, emergency/crisis accommodation, and for diverse population groups receiving income and housing assistance support.

This report explores the housing constraints facing diverse populations of lower income Australians and to establish how existing and innovative housing solutions can support their shelter and non-shelter aspirations across the life-course from young adulthood to later-life.

This report delivers a comprehensive account of the diverse housing circumstances of Australians at mid-life (35–54); elicits their housing aspirations and trade-offs; examines housing challenges and enablers; and ‘market tests’ future housing possibilities, including among vulnerable populations, to inform optimal policy development.

This research examined the extent to which downsizing forms part of older Australians’ housing preferences, the actual and perceived benefits of moving as well as the availability of downsize housing options. The research proposes a number of policy strategies for delivering housing alternatives to meet older Australians’ downsizing aspirations.

This research investigated the short and longer term housing aspirations and the housing aspirations gap among ‘emerging adults’ aged 18–24 years and ‘early adults’ aged 25–34 years, in order to better understand how their aspirations are linked to a ‘broader life project’ across areas such as education, employment and family formation.
