Water restrictions as way of moderating demand
Exploring attitudes and responses to the imposition of water restrictions on external water uses in different kinds of dwellings in different parts of Sydney, this paper examines evidence from a stratified random survey of 2179 households in Sydney in a period when restrictions on domestic water use outside the home had just been imposed.

This paper reviews the housing cost data available in Australia, and derives and presents series of real price indexes for 1979-92 and real rent indexes for 1980-92 for most of the capital cities. It shows a dramatic increase in the annual cost of owning relative to renting, particularly for younger Australians.
