Financing rental housing through institutional investment


This Investigative Panel considered private financing models that can deliver additional supplies of quality, well located rental housing in areas of need that is affordable to low- and moderate-income households. This included provision initiated by both for–profit and not–for–profit providers, as well as cross sector partnerships.

An intercultural approach to the provision of social housing for indigenous people living in urban areas would maximise opportunities to strengthen partnerships and work with indigenous organisations. This approach has the potential to deliver more diverse housing choices and adapt services to local cultural norms.
