This report details the findings from ACYP consultations with children and young people in Juvenile Justice Centres between 2015 and 2019. ACYP consulted with young people in detention to inform the development of New South Wales' first Strategic Plan for Children and Young People.

This report, which focuses solely on violence against children and young people aged 0-24, using the figures from 2016-2017, reveals that violence against children not only impacts on their lives but also has a tremendous economic impact on New South Wales.

This guide has been developed to help organisations understand the value of involving children and young people in decisions that affect them, and to walk you through aspects to consider when involving children and young people in decision making processes that affect them.

This report is the first of its kind to apply the deprivation approach to examine deprivation among young Australians using information provided by young people themselves. It builds on earlier projects that developed and applied the approach used here to adults.

This report outlines 70 recommendations, which were raised in face-to-face consultations with almost 3,000 socially excluded children and young people. Across these recommendations, children spoke about wanting the chance to contribute their views when decisions are being made that affect them.
