Description
The strategy details how the NSW Government will work with partners to make NSW the best place to innovate. Goals and action areas guide how the Government will design programs, allocate funding and interact with stakeholders.
Innovation is essential for the economic, social, and environmental well-being of NSW. The blueprint aims to create opportunity and contribute to shared prosperity by generating new products, services, and processes, allowing businesses to grow, become more profitable and create jobs.
Goals
- Scale and retain globally competitive innovative businesses and industries in NSW.
- Secure the state's future by growing jobs and commercialisation through innovative businesses and industries.
- Increase diversity in NSW's innovation ecosystem.
- Leverage innovation to address NSW challenges and advance missions.
Key action areas
- Strategy: set a clear, long-term vision and priorities for the state's innovation ecosystem and collaborate to deliver them effectively.
- Funding: foster a funding environment that extends the availability of capital to more areas of opportunity.
- Places: help create world-class affordable spaces around the state to innovate and bring different parts of the ecosystem together.
- People: support talent and activation of key innovation hubs through a targeted set of capability programs.
- Engagement: make it easier for stakeholders to engage with key activities and programs, better showcase NSW innovation and attract more strategic activity and investment.
