Report
Description

This report assesses the Commonwealth’s delivery against actions outlined in the 2024 implementation plan including spotlights on outstanding programs, services and initiatives. The 2025 implementation plan outlines the Commonwealth’s strategic priorities for the next 12 months to contribute to achieving the goals of the National Agreement on Closing the Gap (National Agreement). The implementation plan sets out how policies and programs are aligned to the National Agreement and what actions will be taken to achieve the priority reforms and socio-economic outcomes, including information on funding and timeframes for actions. The report also includes the Government's response to the Productivity Commission's review.

The report asserts there has been substantial progress toward the commitments made in last year’s implementation plan and the Commonwealth is making significant investments across priority areas including housing, education, health and jobs. The activities demonstrate a strategic approach to coordinate cross jurisdictionally, remove barriers, explore and support creative community led options and drive partnerships – across government, across sectors and across communities – to support successful outcomes.
