In October 2021, Charles Darwin University, the University of Wollongong, Western Sydney University, the University of South Australia, Great Lakes Agency for Peace and Development, and Margaret Piper AM hosted the Regional Refugee Settlement Forum and associated policy roundtable discussion. It brought together individuals and organisations with diverse lived, policy, and research expertise around regional settlement of humanitarian migrants and identified new approaches and gaps in knowledge that should inform future policies and practices in this space.
As a result, the Forum and roundtable organisers have developed a series of published outputs - this policy paper forms one of these outputs. The purpose of this paper is to present sixteen key recommendations that have been drawn from participants in the forum and roundtable.
