Description

The Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) has released its 39th NQF Snapshot report, summarising quality rating results and other information about education and care services operating under the National Quality Framework (NQF). The latest NQF Snapshot finds 88% of services are rated Meeting or Exceeding the National Quality Standard (NQS).

The rise in the proportion of services rated Meeting NQS and above has been substantial – from 56% in 2013 to 88% in Q3 2022 – demonstrating the NQF is working as intended by encouraging teachers, educators and other service staff to improve their programs and practices to deliver better outcomes for children and families.

In addition to detailed information about the quality of education and care services, the Snapshot and interactive Online Snapshot include data about temporary service closures related to the impact of COVID-19 and other aspects of service regulation, such as staffing waivers.

Snapshot highlights include:

  • 17,006 NQF approved education and care services across Australia
  • 90% (15,377) services have received a quality rating
  • 88% (13,524) of all quality rated services have an overall quality rating of Meeting NQS or above
  • 34 Excellent rated services
  • 70% (11,821) services with a quality rating against the 2018 NQS.
