Immediate, purposeful, and coordinated systemic change is needed to advance equity and inclusion in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. In this report, the authors present the results of a series of rapid systematic reviews, undertaken to identify initiatives effective in supporting workforce equity and inclusion.

This report summarises the evidence in the peer-reviewed literature on what initiatives benefit gender equity in STEM, and how they can be successfully implemented and evaluated. The authors use this evidence to make preliminary recommendations for what works to shift the dial around gender equity in the STEM sector.

This guide provides specific and practical advice on how to implement gender equity programs within organisations. While it does not cover how to implement every type of equity and diversity intervention, many of the concepts about program design and evaluation can be applied to non-gender-focused programs.
