It draws on a survey of 8163 rental properties across southern Queensland. The findings continue to expose an alarming trend in the private rental market.

Key findings

  • 26 unique properties were affordable and appropriate for households on income support.
  • 444 unique properties were affordable and appropriate for those on minimum wage.
  • Single parents were among the worst-off with almost 0% of affordable and appropriate properties available for any single parent household type.
  • There were no affordable and appropriate rental properties for households on income support with children.
  • Coastal areas continue to be the least affordable across southern Queensland.
