The guidance is based on national and international ethics principles. It is the first update to Australia's Voluntary AI safety standard. By following this guidance, your organisation will:
- build trust with stakeholders
- get the benefits of AI while managing the risks
- build public confidence in adopting AI
- set up a roadmap for navigating a complex governance landscape.
Essential practices
- Decide who is accountable
- Understand impacts and plan accordingly
- Measure and manage risks
- Share essential information
- Test and monitor
- Maintain human control.
The guidance is accompanied by a policy guide and template, an AI screening tool and systems register template.
