Flexible grant schemes

What the evidence says (and what we still need to know)
Publisher
Government grants Government funding Australia
Description

Governments increasingly recognise the need for greater flexibility in grant schemes to better support local organisations and respond to community needs. The authors mapped the available evidence on flexible grant schemes to:

  • examine how flexibility is defined
  • assess the extent to which they have been evaluated and their reported outcomes
  • identify key factors associated with their perceived success.

The two snapshots are designed to support policymakers and funders in making evidence-informed decisions about flexible funding approaches. The two snapshops provide:

  • an overview of the available evidence, and
  • a practical tool to improve communication and expectation-setting in grant schemes.
