This report details the findings of a qualitative study investigating the factors that contribute to the low retention and recruitment of women in the cyber security sector in Australia. 

In the first section of this report, the authors detail the gendered barriers in cyber security in Australia including both gendered workplace barriers and gendered professional barriers. 

In the second section of the report, the authors highlight the gendered enablers both workplace and professional that can enhance gender equity in the cyber security sector in Australia. Overall there is a need for more inclusive work practices, strengthened professional development, and targeted recruitment strategies to make cyber security more attractive to women. However, changing mindsets, especially among younger generations, is also crucial.
