This report on a review chaired by David Gonski – known as the 'Gonski Review' – is the culmination of the first significant schools funding review since the Whitlam Government.

In 2010 the Australian Government commissioned a Review of Funding for Schooling. The review panel received more than 7000 submissions, visited 39 schools and consulted 71 key education groups across Australia.

The panel is strongly of the view that the proposed funding arrangements outlined in this report are required to drive improved outcomes for all Australian students, and to ensure that differences in educational outcomes are not the result of differences in wealth, income, power or possessions.
